Businesses often overlook some of the extra bits of information they can include in the profile. According to the search experts, the most important of these is selecting the correct category for your business. Google allows you to choose secondary categories, too, so take advantage.
Home for reviews
Your Google Business Profile is home to your Google Reviews, and high ratings – between 4 and 5 stars – can boost your chances of getting into the local pack. While we’re talking about reviews, the experts agree the number and recency of Google reviews and having a steady influx of reviews improve your chances of being seen.
Fill out as much of the profile as you can. Add photos and posts – much as you would for your social media – and include information about your hours, holiday closings, and whether your business is women-, veteran-, or minority-owned.
Your business description should clearly outline what your business does and contain keywords that searchers are likely to use.
If you run a small business with a limited marketing budget, managing a complete Google Business Profile is a low-cost way to improve the chances customers will find you in a Google search for local services and products.
Until next time
The next newsletter arrives April 22. It’s National Library Week, and Wednesday is National Outreach Library Day, recognizing those who work to make library books accessible to people no matter where they are. April 11 is National Pet Day, so if you’ve got’ em, give ‘em some extra love. (A Bernese Mountain dog and six cats here).
Passover begins April 12, and Easter is Sunday, April 20.
Until next time, be grateful. Be generous. Be patient. Love.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me, . I appreciate you.
